WHAT DOES MORPHINE HAVE IN COMMON WITH TIRES?
- THEY BOTH SAVE LIVES!
Since the Russian invasion of 2022, the Bridge of Life has supported TacMed.
TacMed is an all-volunteer team of paramedics, doctors, nurses and emergency vehicle drivers.
This wonderful team works 24/7 evacuating injured military members and civilians.
TacMed provides lifesaving first aid from the point of pickup, to the doors of Field Hospitals and permanent Medical Institutions.
Over the years, The Bridge of Life has provided emergency vehicles and medical equipment as well as a large quantity of medical supplies for Tacmed.
We have also provided 12 Motorola 2-way radios, so that all team members as well as the military would be in constant radio contact.
The road condition from Dnipro towards Donetsk has become a nightmare.
Each emergency run has the potential for serious damage to the fast-moving ambulances.
We recently received an urgent request describing the damages sustained by one of the Intensive care Units. We were told that one tire was torn apart, the spare tire was beyond repair and the other 3 tires were in extremely bad condition. We were also informed that when the tire was torn apart, the driver was forced to continue driving on the tire rim in order to bring the ambulance to safety.
This is certainly not what we generally do but desperate times demand action.
Day 1- We located 4 tires in Dnipro, 1 tire in Kyiv and one new rim was miraculously found in Lviv.
Day 2- We ordered the 5 tires . We purchased the rim and took it to Nova Poshta for overnight transport to Dnipro.
Day 3- The tires were mounted on the Ambulance and the spare tire and rim were installed in the vehicle
Day 4- The ambulance made its first run to the medical extraction point.
This war is tearing apart tires, roads and families. Our prayers join the prayers of
this nation for an end to this madness.
