Many times, there are wonderful large donors who have specific mandates for construction as well as reconstruction. St. Nicholas Children’s Hospital in Lviv,Ukraine is one of the fortunate recipients.

Unfortunately, sometimes the donation usage is so specific that no portion can be used for small yet essential elements.

 

The Bridge of Life, with our primary focus on Children, welcomed the opportunity to participate in some small way, in the major reconstruction of this very important Hospital.
We met with the Senior Staff and agreed to provide the materials and labor so that two treatment rooms would be available for the Children and the Staff.

The first room is for the Hospital Psychologists who will be working with the Children to address the numerous mental issues in a hospital setting.

This will be used for both in-patient and out-patient treatment.
 

The second room is for the Speech and Hearing specialist. They will provide treatment for hearing loss and non-verbal patients as well as other diagnoses related to the inability to communicate and/or hear properly.
 

It is our opinion that these two rooms can provide life changing events without the interventions often associated with a hospital. Through the use of Play Therapy, the children will look forward to the experience and become active partners in the process.
